(n.) The proper term for the "atomic" and "hydrogen" bombs. Both are designed to release the gluons holding the quarks together which comprise the protons and neutrons of the nucleus. A bomb which does this is, by function and design, a gluon(-powered) bomb. (see "photon bomb")
