The process by which certain words become immune to all but the most extreme applications of irony, usually rendering the speaker a complete social misfit.
Deironization is thought to occur through frequent, cyclical applications of irony to certain "dweeb identifier" words such as "par-tay." (CAUTION -- heavily deironized words should only be attempted by trained professionals with an "expert" or better sarcasm rating.)
