1. Persons, either male or female, who are hopeless addicts or fans of something or someone -- distinctive traits usually being someone who is an outcast from society (dork), obsessive about the object of interest to the point of scaring others, and recklessly stupid, yet humorous behavior. Though the term "fangirl" is often used to describe the female of the species, "fanboy" can be used to describe all people of this type.
(Neither "fanboy" nor "fangirl" would be acceptable to people of the type who spell "women" as "womyn.")
