A collection of objects that have no purpose but you generally keep, either from a sense of duty, inflated emotional attachment, or simple bad taste. Those nick-nacks you bought on holiday, that horrible decorative plate your aunt gave to you, the jeans you can't fit into anymore, and the can opener that doesn't work but still stays in the kitchen drawer are all spherica. (From "spherical" -- describing something that is completely and utterly pointless.) (ED. Alternative spelling: sphaerica; and for those for whom anything written with a ligature seems profound: sphжrica.)
